Error checking from the Preflight panel¶

Possible errors¶

• Color space
  • Images
  • Graphic elements
  • Coloured text
• Resolution
  • Minimum of 250dpi
• Distortion
  • Resolution will show as 2 numbers
• Overset text
• bleed/trim hazards
  • these can mostly be ignored accept where a text object is very near to the trim of the page

Create PDF preset¶

• Not spreads
• Compression
• Marks and bleeds
  • Crop marks
• Include document bleed settings
• Include the slug
  • Add name in the slug area

Create package¶

• Add printer instructions
  • Binding
  • paper
  • Color - 4/0 (4 back zero)
  • See Adrian’s slides for week 2
• Select the saved preset
• Some warnings about fonts

Check output¶

• Look at the folder created
• Edit the printer instructions
  • Check Adrian’s slides on moodle for useful tips
• Create the zip file and submit
